1. Educational Purposes Only
All information and content provided through MatE101 is intended solely for general educational and informational purposes.
Content on MatE101 does not constitute professional engineering, technical, scientific, legal, financial, safety, regulatory, academic, employment, or other professional advice.
You are responsible for independently evaluating and verifying information before relying upon or applying it.
2. No Guarantee of Accuracy
We aim to provide useful and accurate information; however, we do not warrant or guarantee that any content is accurate, complete, current, error-free, reliable, suitable, or applicable to a particular situation.
Materials science and engineering information may depend on specific materials, processing conditions, testing methods, equipment, standards, assumptions, environmental conditions, and other factors.
You use all information provided through MatE101 at your own discretion and risk.
3. Engineering, Laboratory and Safety Disclaimer
MatE101 may discuss engineering calculations, material selection, experiments, laboratory procedures, characterization techniques, testing methods, manufacturing processes, chemicals, equipment, standards, or other technical subjects.
Such content is educational and is not a substitute for appropriate professional supervision, training, risk assessment, safety procedures, equipment manuals, standards, regulations, or qualified engineering judgment.
You are solely responsible for determining whether any activity is appropriate and safe and for complying with applicable laws, regulations, standards, institutional requirements, and safety procedures.
4. No Professional Relationship

5. Accounts
Certain Services may require an account.
You agree to provide accurate information, maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials, and take responsibility for activity occurring through your account.

Cancellation and refund rights are subject to the terms presented at purchase and any rights provided by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
7. Quizzes, Assessments and Certifications
Quizzes, tests, assessments, scores, certificates, or credentials offered through MatE101 are educational services unless expressly stated otherwise.
We do not guarantee that any employer, university, professional organization, licensing authority, regulator, or other third party will recognize or accept a MatE101 score, certificate, assessment, or credential.
We may invalidate results or revoke credentials where there is reasonable evidence of cheating, impersonation, unauthorized assistance, manipulation, or violation of assessment rules.
8. Community and User Content
Users may be permitted to post questions, comments, answers, images, files, links, or other content.
Users are responsible for their own submissions.
You must not post unlawful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory, defamatory, fraudulent, infringing, malicious, dangerous, or otherwise inappropriate content.

We do not control third-party services and do not guarantee their availability, accuracy, safety, legality, quality, security, or practices.
Accessing or using third-party content or services is at your own discretion and subject to the third party's terms and policies.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, original MatE101 content, including text, graphics, branding, layouts, videos, quizzes, educational materials, databases, and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to MatE101 and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use content for your personal, non-commercial educational use unless expressly permitted otherwise.

You retain ownership of content you submit where applicable.
By intentionally posting content to public or community areas of MatE101, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and technically process that content as reasonably necessary to operate and provide the Services.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to content you submit.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted or continuous availability of MatE101.
The Services may experience maintenance, technical failures, outages, data loss, security incidents, changes, or discontinuation.
We may modify, add, remove, suspend, or discontinue features or content where reasonably necessary to operate or develop the platform, subject to applicable legal obligations.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We disclaim warranties and representations, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, including warranties relating to accuracy, reliability, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MatE101 and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, contributors, instructors, representatives, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data, opportunities, business, reputation, academic outcomes, employment opportunities, or other intangible losses arising from or relating to your use of or inability to use the Services.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, this limitation applies to claims arising from reliance on educational or technical information, user content, third-party services, service interruptions, technical failures, unauthorized access, or other use of the Services.
Where applicable law does not permit a particular exclusion or limitation, that exclusion or limitation applies only to the maximum extent legally permitted.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
16. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MatE101 and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, and representatives from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services, violation of these Terms, infringement of another person's rights, or content you submit.

Your use of MatE101 is also subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is collected, used, stored, and otherwise handled.
18. Age and Eligibility
You must have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.

We may impose additional eligibility requirements for particular Services.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the Canadian jurisdiction in which MatE101 is legally established or operated, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections or other rights that may apply under the laws of a user's jurisdiction.
Before publication, this section should be updated to identify the specific province or territory and, where appropriate, the courts that will have jurisdiction.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
The updated Terms will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent.
Continued use following an update constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
21. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
22. No Waiver
Failure to enforce a provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other rights.
